Sharleen knew since childhood that she would somehow get involved with the health and wellness field, there was a little bit of a journey to finally land a career in Therapeutic Massage in 2007. She has a passion for working with those who suffer from chronic pain, including headaches, different type of accidents, posture correction from Repetitive Strain Injuries, and stress stemming from trauma and/or anxiety and depression. Physical, emotional, spiritual and social trauma are often stored in the body in some way shape or form. In Sharleen’s experience, applying therapeutic techniques to soft tissue potentially encourages healing in all these areas. Once we are connected to our bodies, that energy can create movement and be applied in many beneficial ways.

Education

Sharleen’s education began in Mexico. Her interest in health and wellness gently directed her to Therapeutic Massage. She graduated in 2007 from the Alberta Institute of Massage with Honours. In 2009 she completed her Reiki Master Certification through The Healing Center. By 2011 she completed Craniosacral Therapy Level II through the Upledger Institute. Sharleen has added Myofascial Cupping and Acupressure to her qualifications and is always enthusiastic about learning more.

Career

Sharleen started working with a Chiropractor in Red Deer straight out of school. She enjoyed the diversity of clientele, the work environment and being part of a team. After practicing for awhile, Sharleen had the unique opportunity to take over a Massage Clinic in Red Deer. She very much enjoyed being able to contribute and be a part of the Wellness community in this way. In 2009, Sharleen relocated to Edmonton and began working at a high end salon and spa. Since then, she has worked along side Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Acupuncturists, Yoga Instructors and Personal Trainers. Sharleen is Certified in Holistic Nutrition from CSNN, she enjoys being a support system for her clients, including the struggles they may be facing with their relationship with food. Sharleen has taken a Coaching program, her style of coaching uses a proprietary process, which involves a powerful embodiment experience to help activate ones connection to their body, and help clients apply their techniques when feeling stuck in life’s challenges.
